Hello Everyone,

We would just like to know if anyone has kitesurfed in the bay of deception bay?
Today we went down there and it looks like a really good spot - it is evenly shallow far out for hundreds of meters and has a good area to land and launch from.
We went there at low tide to see if there were any dangers around - but it looks exactly the same as the kiteboarding spot at Brighton near Sandgate. There seems to be more mud in the dbay area but nothing too crazy.


I have never seen anyone kitesurfing down there and it is always very windy. As we are very new to the sport - i guess we were wondering if there was a nasty reason no one kitesurfs there or maybe you are not allowed to kitesurf there?

I have attached a map to this post so you can clearly see where i am talking about...sorry for the dodgy map :) but you get the idea.
