This is a birthday card I just received from my parents, and the 1980s vintage photo struck me as curious for a couple of reasons;

1. It appears to be the start of a race, but none of the sails have numbers.
2. There are no brand logos on the sails either

Are they all custom sails? The pink one looks to me like an 80's Gaastra Powerdrive, the white one a NP Warp Speed, perhaps a Hood to the right of that and maybe a North sail on the far right. The only other discernable fact is that it looks like a race in open water, as there is clearly some swell, but very little wind.

The obvious answer is that the numbers and sail brands have been photo-shopped out, but I'm hoping someone may have a better, more satisfying explanation.
