Can anyone direct me to a site or book that has guidlines for the type of fitness training needed for surfing big waves (paddle in)

I'm 40 years old with moderate fitness and ability and want to surf bigger waves from here on in. Summer time in Perth is a good time to train for next winter.

I saw an article in Tracks a few years ago about hypoxia training - sprinting holding your breath followed by underwater swimming for hold downs, then yoga and fitball with dumbells for strength and flexibility.

You see snippets here and there about what the tour guys are getting up to, so it must be out there somewhere.

I think I have all the right elements above, it's just how to tie it all together, reps/frequency etc that I can't get my head around.
