Sup Tube riding?:-)
Howdy to everyone
I am just wondering if anyone has any good ideas on how to fit a sup into a barrel, I have just recently had some great success yesterday morning at my local reef (best ever proper tube on a sup so far), I am not talking about a quick cover-up but a proper barrel (over 2 seconds etc.). My wave was a backdoor super suck type that was about 3 seconds (but felt longer) and I also had another one afterwards but did not make that one, my board that I was on was an old 7.4 x 28.5" Airborn that was on its limit/s - I was almost sucked up the face, its rails are very round and different to other boards (I was riding it thru the tube at a 45 degree angle and just made it). I have another board but wider (7.2 x 30") with much thicker rails with a tucked-under edge that preforms better in the barrel and so I am wondering if there is a trick / or better way to be able to ride a wide sup (compared to a short board) in barrelling conditions. I would like to hear some other peoples experiences and ideas about the whole subject. Also I know about short board tube riding (and it is not as difficult :-)
