Why do you get damaged for not voting? Fined for not stiking your name off the roll?

Is Democracy real if people do not know each other? How can a representative represent maybe a hundred thousand or half a million people? The represntative will not know them. How can your represent someone you do not know?

The only way it can work is if the vast magority get on with it living their lives despite an elected representative. This do this despite so much money is taken from them. So the workers have their incomes taken from them to pay for people they don't know.
