Yes, I admit I have double standards when thinking about this story.
Yes, if a woman put up with this type of abuse for so long I'd still be shocked and disgusted that she stayed and took it.

But this guy...he's meant to be a guy!
She wasn't physically bigger or stronger than him, so it's not like the situation of an ape like male perpetrating violence against his smaller wife/girlfriend.

I can't help but think - 'Why didn't you just man-the-f8ck-up and do something about it????!!!!!' 'I mean, get the hell out of there at the very least!'
I am especially disgusted that with him being a man, well meant to be, was too pussified to help himself.

I'm sure people like logman and Adriano will find some comfort in him being a white male, him probably being deserving of this treatment in their eyes, as some sort of social catharsis to make up for abuse suffered by women at the hands of white males, cause males of other skin colours don't perpetrate violence against women.

But the absolute weakness shown here, the willing powerlessness. I can't wrap my head around it. It disgusts me.
As I said I am disgusted when I hear about women putting up with a fraction of this violence.
But this, this is some next level stuff and I admit that my double standards causes me to be even more disgusted cause he's a bloke and let it go so far.

Help me correct my double standard way of thinking.
