I am just wondering if any of the Gold Coast breeze members out there paddle in the canals etc that are in abundance along the coast. I must admit I have never seen anyone SUP or for that instance hardly anyone apart from boaties and aqua bogans (jet skiers) utilise the canals for recreational activities. I understand swimmers etc staying out of the water due to sharks etc but surely would be great for some flat water paddle training. I am interested to know as I am only about 100m from a canal that looks so glassy and inviting every morning and think to myself if I had a big board I would be very tempted...comments?

so here's a picci of my mate andy (an accomplished surfer,windsurfer and kitesurfer) stepping out with his daughters samantha and sophie for the first time on sup and after a few hours of fun and laughter (splashing ) they had it wired on flat water.
can't wait to get to currumbin i overheard them saying.
great to see families having fun (maybe even mum!)

andy did complain of soreness in calves.
