Update CR:X Event at Sailing World Cup - Melbourne
Hey Seabreeze,

We've had a pretty interesting response to the CR:X launched online a few weeks ago and the upcoming Exhibition Event at Sail Melbourne next week. Thanks for all the input!

Along with plenty of other feedback, we have heard from quite a few people who are good kiters and are keen on the CR:X concept and racing, but aren't confident foil-kiting yet.

Can kite - tick.

Keen to race - tick.

Not sure I'll be able to foil around the course - uh oh!

To make the Sailing World Cup Exhibition Event more accessible, we have decided to open it up to twin-tip only racers. That means the foil racing part of the CR:X Exhibition Event is optional!

We will award winners for CR:X TWIN-TIP/BOARDER-X and CR:X FOIL RACING separately. More winners! And more prize money too.

If you are one of those people I described above, now is your chance to get involved without hesitation about whether you'll get around the course on the foilboard or not.

More info below! See you on the water.

CR:X is the world’s first one-design kite racing class. The CR:X movement is all about being part of the racing action, improving skills and having fun on the water.

NeilPryde’s CR:X mission is to create a community of kite racing enthusiasts of all levels and abilities, and enable them to race on a level and affordable playing field.

The CR:X is a versatile kite racing platform that features a convertible board that can be switched between fin and foil modes. Multiple modes mean that the same set of hardware can be used for beginner racers and more advanced foil races as skills improve, as well as in a huge range of weather conditions.

The CR:X features a three-strut kite that comes in three sizes, one control system and the convertible kite board. All the gear fits into a 145cm airline friendly travel bag. The CR:X covers an extraordinary wind range, from 5-30 knots, ensuring that racing can happen in almost all conditions. The class has been created to provide a pathway for aspiring athletes towards higher performance racing.
