Food riots. The governments solution is to put the army in charge of food distribution. Talk about doubling down on failure. Government can't supply enough food so the army will start supplying it. Who would you rather have distributing food you wanted, the army or Coles? Controlling prices will be a real incentive for a food supplier to sell food won't it?
One thing is for sure, the President will be enjoying his bacon and eggs while his beloved people wait in line to get their state allocated ration.
Socialism seems to be more about putting people who have no idea of what they are doing in charge to make top down decisions that end up in absolute failure than actually helping people. Fortunately those who are in charge are largely immune from the consequences of those failures. Probably what will happen soon is all the privately owned supermarkets will be taken over by the army and the contents will be what is distributed. That will be a real incentive for someone to try to sell food to Venuzuelans won't it?
Hopefully the socialist system in Venuzeula will soon collapse and people can get back to living normal lives in a market based economy.
