Am I the only one who thinks it is ridiculous that you have celebrities or sports stars constantly winning Australian of the year?

I have nothing against Adam Goodes, he's an unbelievable sports player, really nice guy and someone worthy of a hall of fame spot, but Australian of the year?

Now don't get me, wrong, I'm not saying that because I think I'm a worthy candidate, in fact, I'm a pretty selfish ****, but we have people dedicating their entire lives to charity, living in poverty so they can use every spare cent to help others, we have soldiers risking their lives every day, etc.

Essentially it looks like Australian of the year has become more of a contest of the marketability of the candidate rather than what is really important.

Hey guys,

I started surfing about 6-8 months ago and have progressed hugely. I can get up every time on my 6'4 Motorboat do a basic bottom turn and am still perfecting generating speed. At the moment i can ride a wave for a good 5-10 second going slowly from top to bottom however im looking to progress to the next level and do better turns and things. Just wondering what i need to do and how i should go about doing it?
