Got drunk last night with a bunch of 457's from work. Turned out I had a pretty good time with peeps who refuse to eat bacon.

One of them told me during excessive intoxication that he was an untouchable and is now a social activist for other untouchables in Australia, and is actively trying to bring his sister to Aussie.

My feeling is that these newly arrived peeps should be thankful that they are now living in a culture where these problems don't exist on the scale that they may in their homeland and should leave their problems behind. Sure we have many problems in Aussie, the aboriginal peeps here have got some massive issues to deal with.

I shared a cab with the untouchable, and the cab driver happened to be fresh from Turkey. All three of us debated this issue about leaving the problems of your homeland behind when you arrive in Aussie.

The taxi driver, was with me. When he arrived in Australia he just moved on, he knows he's in paradise and couldn't give a rats about all the problems that he left behind and is working on making a new life for himself - good on him. These are the sort of peeps I'd like here.

My 457 untouchable co-worker is very determined to make a difference for his people back in India. Personally, I think he's pissing in the wind. I think he has no hope of changing anything - it's been going on for 2000 years. I pretty much told him that he should forget about it and make money and buy a Porche Cayene.

My goal now is for him to reject his past - I'm going to make him eat some bacon.
