wife's neice's husband who i have never met (she went to the wedding)
has probably either killed himself or disabled himself. He's in a coma, they had to cut open his skull to put a sensor in there for swelling etc. Theres a collection and a go fund me page. They have raised several thousand dollars. Some of her other siblings have given $100. I refuse to give anything - i think society should give him a bill.
He was probably doing a mono very fast in a suburban street when he lost it and embedded himself under a parked car. Tore his helmet in two. they had to jack the car up to extract him. He was endangering other road users lives. The poor ambos had to withness a pretty horrific scene and now his medical bills with intensive care, air transport, surgery etc is surely already in the six figures and could amount to much more if he becomes disabled. And yet their attitude is that the medical is free and they can just put a page on facebook and people will give them money.
I'd feel sorry for him if he'd attempted scuicide, but to have such a callous disregard for your own life and personal safety, and for other road users/ childeren in the street and even disturbing the peace he can blow me. I refused to be taxed any more than I already will be by this fool. Wife is a bit put out.
Am I being too harsh?
