Brexit failure
It looks like Brexit from the EU will never happen. Whether you believe Brexit is right or wrong, whether you believe the vote was valid or not, its pretty clear the powers that be have set up Brexit to fail and fail it has.
Its fairly probable the whole Brexit deal negotiated was designed from the outset to fail. It was too complex, had too many clauses, too many exemptions and so forth. Brexit should have been fairly simple as this is what the referendum was about. Any EU regulations over the UK would be invalid after the UK exited the EU. Any UK members of EU organisations representing the UK as part of the EU would come home. Any resources flowing to the UK from the EU as being part of the EU would cease and vice versa. The UK would treat imports of goods and services from EU nations as they would from any other nation, this would be something for them to work out. Likewise for EU nations working out importing goods and services from the UK.
Of course there would have been disruption and hardship from a sudden break but over time disruptions would have been fixed.
Whether you feel Brexit was good or bad its pretty clear the failure of it is going to be difficult for many British to accept. While Brexit is failing there are many across many EU countries, especially in France and Germany, who also want their country to leave the EU.
If the EU had stuck to being a free trade block, just dealing with reducing trade barriers for goods and services between countries, as it was originally as the EEC, we would not have this problem.
It may be unfortunate in some ways if the UK leaves the EU. Its pretty clear in English speaking countries generally there is an acceptance for the State to assume rights over the individual in the name of security or the general goodness of the State. In many non English speaking countries there is more suspicion of the State and as a result individual rights are not automatically lost when the State legislates them out of existence. So some laws the British parliament enacted reducing the rights of individuals were struck down by the EU as being infringements on the rights of all EU citizens.
