Anyone built a box trailer rack - multiple boards?
Hi,
I'm just after some advice on the best way to build a rack for carrying about 5 boards on a box trailer (+ masts, booms etc).
what systems have people used. Are just horizontal racks the way to go?
I thought vertical racks might be more economical in terms of space, but then thought having boards on their rails might not be the best given its probably a rough ride on a box trailer.

Hadn't given much thought to angled racking as the trailers easiest fixing points are the 4 corners.

Appreciate any any advice or pics/drawings of what works well.

Thanks.

Windsurfing Trailer- Winter Project Journal
With lots of windsurfing gear, wife willing to purchase a SUP for coming summer season and other family members (we are 5) who are also willing to enjoy their time on the water and learn how to windsurf or go kayaking there are not many transport options available.....any car is too small.
I think the time has come to build a trailer to fit all the gear and just go to all these beautiful spots which WA has to offer without leaving anything behind .... The idea was born to build a custom trailer to suit our family needs.

I have decided to share and document the work in progress here on forum for all those who are considering to build a trailer but not sure where to start and for all others. Do not hesitate to ask questions or to comment / suggest improvements as the project progresses.

Box Trailer Ideas?
Getting a little sick of loading up the station wagon and having boards take up the passenger side front seat, booms and mast near touching the glove box and a tub of wet suits, extensions, harness, vest, gps, fins etc all sliding around in the back. And a little over un-loading the whole show at the end of the day too. So, I was thinking of going down the modified box trailer route. I have safe, dry storage for one, and was hoping to load it with 3 boards and half a dozen sails plus the usual tub of bits and pieces. So if anyone has any ideas, tips or tricks (and some pictures) of how they set up there box trailer, I'd be happy to hear (and see) them.

About to buy a trailer, and was thinking a 6x4 gal model would be a good canvas to start with?

Ps- I reckon the enclosed ones look great, and probably are a great idea, but I'm thinking of keeping it nice and simple, and still have a usuable box trailor for very occasional tip run etc.

Cheers
