You gotta laugh!
Some nice little waves at Days st this weekend, about 1.5 to 2 foot (bigger set every now and again) spoilt only by a 60+ year old mal rider who told me to puck off, as the waves I were riding were for 'Mal riders only', I politely asked him if he was serious, to which he replied that 'goat boaters and big floatie boards werent welcome' and that I should 'move down the beach'.
Now, I had been surfing with the pack, about 8 surfers, for about half an hour, picked off some of the bigger sets, then realised I had taken a few rides that might have been considered picking off from out the back, so I backed off a few to let some of the bigger set waves through,
But to have this old bloke have a crack at me for surfing a board that was probably only 1 foot shorter than his was a bit rich. He was surfing with two other Mal riders, picking off all the bigger sets / waves in front of the short boarders, hardly sharing the stoke,
So I moved down the beach, tried not to let it ruin my session and to be honest, had one of the best surfs ever, caught the lefts from out the back, all on my own 50 metres down towards middleton point, then caught the reform rights on the inside,
Thanks you stupid old gunt, you made my day :)
