Rippers Windsurfing, is Based on the enormously popular BIC Techno 293 class.
The 3rd largest sailing class in the world, behind Opti's and Lasers.
All equipment is one design and price fixed.
The board is incredibly versatile and robust, with a sailing range of 3 to 30 knots...Wow!

Little Rippers is run as a Group, just off the beach.
You can build up your confidence, while surrounded by similar level windsurfers in a safe and fun environment.
A fully dedicated instructor is in attendance to help you develop and enjoy the whole experience....
Boards and Sails can be provided if you register and enquire.. AMAZING...
Use any board you can get your hands on, but it must have a centreboard.
Use any sail you want, as long as it is smaller than 4.5m with no cams.
Rippers Race: NO AGE LIMITS
Once your confidence is up, you can progress to one of 3 race categories.
Everybody must sail on the same one design equipment. i.e. the BIC Techno 293 board, fin and sails.

6.8m & 46cm fin. (Lots of people use the 5.8m also)

8.5m & 50cm fin. (Called "Plus" or "Open")
Everyone races together on relatively short courses that are just off the beach.
A heavy emphasis on Fun and improving by being surrounded by like minded windsurfers.
Usually there will be 2 sessions. 11am-12.30pm and 1.30-3pm. (weather and location dependant.)
Try Windsurfing:
As the name suggest, this is an opportunity for people (especially kids from your local sailing clubs) to try windsurfing.
Qualified instructors and assistant instructors break up the group, so that everyone can get some basic instructions and time on the water.
It is designed to be a taster, not a full on lesson.
This endeavor is not available at every event as it is completely dependent on the demographic of the club.
Usually it will run before Little Rippers and Rippers Races starts. Approximately 9-10am.
THE SERIES:6 clubs in the Sydney region have come together to create a series, that pulls everyone together throughout the 2018-19 season.
