Kids Boards Imp 8'4 / 9 Naish 8 DC8.0, Strby 7.2
Well with 3 daughters between 8 and 14 we have had more exposure to kids boards than most. To get things going we had 2 customs made one for Nesha and one for Kristi as in 2008 there were few if any sub 9 foot boards.

The boards were hand crafted by Dave Boyd Imperial Surf, with full resin tints and were designed to be stable in the flat and with fin changes shreaders in the surf.

This is Nesha's 8'4 x 26 x 4 1/2 Dave Boyd Imperial Custom.

It will easily support up to 80kg and it shreads in the surf.

Kristi's Board is 8'9 x 26 x 3 1/4 full pink black and mauve tiger stripe.

This is the board that Kristi used to come 3rd in the womens division at Mambo Competition in 2009

Niki Has a DC 8.0 and is still learning to ride it.

DC 8.0 on left Imperial 8'9 on right.

We have also had a Starboard 7.2 x 30 x 6.

We always use soft fins for the kids so they dont get cut (Pics to come)

Grommets First Board ( Dad's cross over)
Hi All,
Hoping for some advice in relation to board choice. I have a son who is 10 who has taken to paddling and I am on the look out for a suitable board for him (preferably 2nd hand). Something stable enough for him to ride on flat water and learn to catch small waves but not too big he gets blown away in a light Breeze. It would also need to be able to float me at 75kg - 5'10 when I want to use it.

We own a 11'4" Naish and are looking for a board for the young 'un so we can paddle together (on flat water) and also a smaller board for occassional surfing.

Any advice appreciated on boards to consider.
Lance.
