there is a small team of expert class 5 pilots from Lake Lefroy heading down to Walyungup to give the Sandgropers a few tips on the weekend of the 8-9th January, so this will be you chance to meet some real stars and maybe get hooked.

Greetings, I'm new here, so if this has already been discussed, please send me in the right direction. I have built a class 5 from scratch (off Mike Hampton's old plans-mostly) and owned two "production" boats, a US Fed 5 and my current boat a New Zealand Rocket. I would really like to design and build another, but would rather not just exactly copy something that exists.
All the really fast boats seem to be of the frame-over-seat variety, whether they race on the beach or dry lakes, but the way the front suspension/strut connects to the 'Y' part of the frame and to the seat seems to vary a lot. The "why" of those differences intrigues me.

I thought i was almost cured after a couple of months of renovating houses instead of playing with tools in my backyard rehabilitation centre.
However I have sadly fallen off the wagon and gone back to old habits, and popped down the shed for a few hours last week to whip up the next mini.
Ive just couldnt face another yacht with silly angles and have reverted to basics with a "simple" T frame LLM( OK , it will get silly later).
i took measurements from "Ankle Biter' which I still feel is my fastest mini on a good surface and plan to adapt a "nappy Rush " style seatback to the T frame.
i certainly felt that the time in rehab is doing my mental state the world of good
