I have 8 windsurfing sails and no sewing machine. My sailmaker is away on holidays and I want to try out the pig. Most of the comments regarding use of uncut windsurfing sails is that it like having only one gear. I hooked up my windsurfing sail to the new mini and rigged a downhaul system that allows the sail to be downhauled to the right amount, without sheeting in. When I sheet in, the amount of downhaul is increased. This flattens the sail when sheeting in.
I think this will allow me to maximize the design of the sail.

here is how it is rigged.
The cleat is on the mast. The blocks are attached to the boom and the yacht frame. When rigging, the block for the main sheet locks one end of the line. The other end is pulled until the downhaul is enough to move the battens to the middle of the mast then locked by the cleat. When sheeting in the 4:1 mechanical advantage downhauls the sail.
