big vs medium
sic bullet

vs 14' big volume rockered board

sat. location gold coast.first run mid morning. gibson st/burleigh
conditions very good.
the bullet flies when you get the right runs. past the alley was all time. i've been talking to a few guys and experiencing it myself- you pick up a nice run thinking yeah this is good, but what you do is go back as far as you can and the board takes off and starts lifting over the bumps in front. however you need to get the right runners. its to big too get the short standup/chop type of run. i was behind a certain world class paddler who was on a 12'6- amazing paddler. i would get a set and just be flying and doing it easy drawing up behind him, but then i would get stuck with the shorter runners and he would draw away again.
to be honest i'm pretty happy to be within cooee of any of the good guys when we pull up

second run 4.00 pm. winds gone more south, less white caps, but still not to bad.

run gibson street/ alley- solo run

i'm loving this 14'er, while it gets the same type of runners the bullet gets it not going to run as far but gee for a 14'er it very good and stable, however it will pick up up the middle to short type of runners too. and being shorter and a bit lighter i can get the board up to speed faster

would i have gotten closer to world class paddler.

well thats the million dollar question.
its a case of the bullet gets rolls royce runners and goes and goes, but not pickup the short to middle runners like the 14'er.

with the 14' imo boxing above its weight, it couldn't possibly match the bullet for sheer lenght and motoring power when 'its ' on

at 'my level' in 'average gold coast conditions' which one is going to get you over the line faster

cheers
