I am heading up to Green Island for a few days from 26 September. How easy is it to hook up some gear, I have heard there is a rental centre on the island, but short of a brief mention in the brochure, cant find any info.

Taking my own gear is probably not going to be practical.

GI was really nice this last weekend. Just thought I'd mention that.
Clear water, steady strong wind, good company and sensational food at the resort.
A few irukandji on Sunday which cut short the fun, but I was stuffed by then anyway.

Seriously, worth every cent for a weekend getaway. The forecasts up here are pretty reliable too, as it's far enough out not to be subject to the "lighter inshore" caveat that often goes with the strong wind warnings. If it says it's going to blow, I think it usually does.

Just make sure you organise some wheels for your gear. Carrying it up on the way over was not so bad, but carrying it back wet the next day with a somewhat broken body was murder.
