Abbott Govt Backflips, Broken Promises & Failures
1. Problem: Budget Emergency. Response: Do almost nothing for six months.
2. Problem: The former Labor/Greens alliance. Response: Do a deal with the Greens to remove the debt ceiling altogether. Must make conservatives livid. Hold placards of Christine Milne up in parliament trashing her and then doing said same deal the next day. Stupid judgement.
3. Problem: Gonski reform is popular: Response: Promise to implement it before the election. Ditch it after the election, claiming it was a shambles (that Tas, Vic, SA, NSW & ACT all signed up to BTW). Then change your mind, sort of to appease the livid Liberal Premiers. Years of diligent work thrown in the bin. Start again where you left off in 2001.
4. Problem: Car industry going down the gurgler. Response: Talk it down and make it sound inevitable so you don't have to do anything, because you had no policy other than to do nothing.
5. Problem: Unemployment is rising. Response: do nothing to help save manufacturing like above potentially leading to hundreds of thousands of job losses. How is this good for jobs? Remove any incentive to renewable energy industries, creating zero new sustainable energy sector jobs.
6. Problem: Stop The Boats: Response: Insult the Indonesians by insensitively responding to a spying row. Blame the ABC and the Labor Party instead.
7. Problem: China is a sovereign country with a big army and they don't say "How high" when Tony Abbott says "Jump". Response: insult them by stating they have no right to declare a new protectorate in waters immediate adjacent their own.
Just keep adding I'm getting sick of typing
