Yet another Noob asking for rig selection advice
Hello everyone, I'm a Gold Coaster in CoolanGhetto looking to advance from my current old gear :) . Currently I'm on an old board that is fairly large, glass mast, aluminum boom you get the idea but today in moderate winds it just didn't feel fun, felt heavy to use and tiresome, wish it would go faster too after seeing some of the promo videos :/ . The wind doesn't get up much more around here so it will be very frustrating in future as unless I get cyclonic conditions it wont be fun.
I'd really like to progress and get into the surf and offshore in the ocean.
It is a very hard task to choose a modern board and rig, I'm 6'7" and had a horrible time failing to learn on a short board before a found my current one - no water starting never worked for me on the short board either. On top of that most rigs and boards are a few thousand dollars! - I can't stuff this decision - hell I dont even want to pay more than 1-2k, is it possible to have fun on something under $1,000?

Thankyou everyone, and by the way the reason for why I have progressed to where I am today is because someone on here from Redcliff gave me a heap of gear to get started - thankyouKind regardsSam Groll

a very VERY big thankyou to raydar for giving me most of the gear i need to get out on the water but im in need of a fin.
dose anyone have a spare fin lying around that would fit a Tiga 2.7 board or know where i could get one?
i may make one out of wood or something antil i can get some stronger just to get out there on the river but im worried it will snap, could always get the plastic shop to make one i supose.
im at tweed heads/coolangatta so if anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated.
thankyou
regards sam
heres some pics
the slot on the bottom side is 16cm long(measured on the flat plane with the board) while on the top its 12cm

im a total beginer :) ive got a board and no sail!
HEY GUYS
im new this forum and new this sport but ive always wanted to get into wind or kite surfing since i found the real fun in sailing --> hiking with the boat vertical above rough seas going at an incredible speed
I hope to move away from sailing(with its big, bulky gear) though and focus more on windsurfing and kitesurfing! hopfully i can learn from this forum
of what i hope to be an amazing sport!

Any way today I found a wind surfing board on the street but it had no sail so I was wondering weather you guys could point me in the right direction to preferably make one(come on how hard could it be, hurry hard rubbish collection only larsts for 2 more days!) or buy one.
my weight is 75kg, 17 years old and i am 6'7" tall, i surf so i exspect no problems staying up(right?) and sail so should get a good idea for where the sail has to be in relation to the wind.
heres a pic of my newly scabed board
i guss its about 2.5m
Thankyou
Regards Sam
