I want to bring a 12' board back from LA on my next visit. Does anyone have advice on what airline is most likely going to allow such a long board on checked (oversized) luggage at no extra cost? QANTAS seems to be a 9'1" cut off. Is there a trick to getting around these restrictions? Obviously, the pros must do it all the time but they don't seem to be eager to give up their trade secrets.
