Yesterday I saw a canadian canoe that a mate had made from thin (1") strips of light weight timber with a coat of glass over top and bottom. The strips have a rounded tongue so they curve nicely top to bottom. I was surprised how light such a big canoe was - felt not much heavier than a wally. I was wondering if anyone has built a windsurfer (longboard) using this technique.
check out this wood version which was built by my sons teacher who gave it to him when he found out he was windsurfing. This board has been beautifully construced with mast track and powerbox fin although very noisy on the water. Would love to see it on show. any ideas?
