Get excited - Who's coming?
There's less than a week till the SHQ Sandy Point Melbourne Cup kicks off! This year is going to be better than ever with heaps of great events and prizes lined up.
All there is to do now is cross your fingers and hope that the wind gods deliver!!

Last year was awesome with a fun swell and cross off Easterly leading up to the event, delivering those who turned up early with some great down the line wavesailing.

The long weekend kicked off with sweet weather allowing for everyone to get out SUPing and surfing. Then we were treated to some decent W-SW wind, perfect for slalom and blasting in Shallow Inlet and offering some fun jumping for the wave crew up in the corner of Waratah Bay.

At the moment the long range forecast is looking promising with decent Easterly winds on Saturday and some swell.

If you are coming make sure you have pre-registered online to go into the running for a $300 Gift Voucher. Check it out here: www.shq.com.au/products/sandy-point-registration

Hope to see many of you there - it's gonna be awesome!!

SHQ Sandy Point Melbourne Cup Weekend pics
We had a great event this year with a combination of SUP, Slalom Racing, Speedsailing and Wavesailing taking place over the four days.

Saturday saw light winds and a small swell - perfect for the SUP events.

Sunday we had a mix of conditions with plenty of wind for Slalom and Speed action on the inlet and a late wave jumping session when the wind picked up another notch.

Monday was a bit lighter than Sunday but still there was heaps of stuff going on at Shallow Inlet, with RS One and SUP relay races, freestyle and more slalom.

Tuesday - Cup Day, we ran Round 3 of the Victorian Wavesailing Series at Waratah Bay. We also worked in a fun Forward 'Loop Off' event, throwing in a Neil Pryde Fly as a prize. The incentive worked with heaps pulling the trigger for the first time resulting in some awesome carnage!

We should have a full event report, results and event video online soon!
In the meantime check out a few more pics on our Facebook page - www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.268820529829922.69261.100283466683630&type=1&l=5f9419b4c3
