Australia is going to spend 50 bln on submarines. You are never going to see them ( and that is whole idea to be invisible).

Elon Musk company SpaceX can sell us rockets at 50 mln per piece. Recyclable , so you could use them many times now.

For 50 bln we could buy 1000 of those fancy rockets, but even if we buy several it will be enough to keep us going in space.If we build space port , that we be good entry into XX! century.

Create a lot , well paid highly qualified work.

Attract scientist from all over the world to come to us.

Australia has the best geographical conditions to launch and land rockets with our vast , flat mostly deserted land. Rockets will run on natural gas and we have plenty of this cheap fuel.

We have everything we need including 50 mln for first rocket to start with.We have this neutral status ,that we don't need to afraid that we threaten somebody ( but we could if we need with those rockets much better then with submarines) .
US will be happy because we buy whole technology from them and employ many.

Subject is so politically neutral that both left and righ wing hapilly suport such move.
