Surfboard for light wind days
Hi guys,
I was thinking of buying a surfboard and attaching some straps to it for the low wind days (<12kn to say). Not too sure how big the board should be though. Im still learning and I would like to use it to cruise around, this being my first directional board.
Good idea, bad idea or any good will piece of knowledge?
Thank you

Bigger kite or bigger/flatter board?
I know this questions has been asked in various forms many times, but I am still at a loss as to what I should do.
My situation:
I live at Syd Northern Beaches, where winds are often in the 12 knot area and usually no one or hardly anyone out as a result.
My largest kite is a 12m BWS noise, I'm about 85kg and have a 140 TT as well as a Skimboard from LF which is fun, but I'm not confident with it in waves.
My question is, I would like to get out in those ~12knot days and am wondering if I need to upgrade to a larger kite (=more expensive, more hassle, slower turning) or go for a specific light wind board that allows me to go out on my 12 (= less expensive, less hassle, can use my 12 as my max size).
Or is the answer a combination of both (= most expensive, least desired option)?
What would your recommendations be for those light wind conditions?
Thanks in advance.

Edge 13 or north nugget
I am debating a 13 edge or north nugget. I have the pivots 9-11 and looking to gain a bit more low end between 14-18 knots. Never been on a surfboard and love freeride and jumping. I have been on edges 9-11 before so know these sizes so the upwind advantage is a draw card to the edge 13. What would you guys go for? Any advice would be great? Cheers

North nugget
Has anyone got experience with this board? I'm looking to get one for next season to use in light wind, and also intro to surfboard and strappless riding for a change from the twinny.
Are they fun to ride, and also easy to carve turn and switch your feet.im on the pivots with 11 being the biggest kite, not interested in the big kites anymore, doesn't do it for me.
I'm 88kg, any info would be great?
Cheers

Starting in the waves
I have been kiting for a few years now and am keen to give wave riding a try without putting too much money down. Would also be a light wind option given I kite sydney's northern beaches where it is always light.
Would a foam surfboard be worth the $20 investment to give it a go? My thinking is that they are super buoyant for light wind and a bit more indestructible for the likely beginner spills. I know true surfers wouldn't go near them but I'm more interested in working out if it is doable/if the technique learned would be transferrable to a better board later on.
Thanks :)
