I borrowed the Wide Point for a few days and had been using an 8'5 pro. The 8'2 x 32 is more stable than the 8'5 x 29.5. The wide point comes standard with a quad fin set up and the 8'5 comes with a thruster. The Pro was better catching the waves and felt a little better in the turns (personally). The 8'2 was better when getting out and didnt nose dive as much on the wave. the weight difference between the two was almost impossible to tell. They are both great boards but it is hard to choose between the two. If anyone is interested in this Wide Point, it is the 2012 model. RRP is $1750 but is now down to $1499 at Sunshine Coast Sup Fun www.sunshinecoastkitesurfing.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=19_36&products_id=746
