This site has a very sophisticated system in place where you upload data and get ranked accordingly worldwide, both by set classes and by overall results.
The GPS data used for rankings are based upon your average 5 best runs of 10 seconds long, data processed through PC software, then auto-uploaded to website. From there your results are verified through official timekeepers and then finally posted.
This PC software used is one of several allowed for use.

The optimal GPS device of choice is the well known Navi GT-31, which is the only device allowed for Top 10 Ranks, although other devices are accepted for overall results.
The "Record Rankings" are a new concept well practiced on the sister sites of GPS Kitesurfing & Windsurfing, but was new this year to Ice and only a few records have been established. I am not sure what plans the organizers have for "record rules" for LAND. Only a single best 10 second run is analyzed for "record rules", but 2 GPS devices are required along with a procedure of visual witnesses & data exchange. Data is then processed to a separate GPS panel of timekeepers to verify all data.
I think this will be a great opportunity for Land Sailors to get involved and I am looking forward to seeing some results!
