Ok After reading Doctor Karls latest book & the story about how rich people lie & steal more than poor people & general have the feeling that because they have money the usual rules don't apple to them attitude.
I have to totally agree.
I get to work all over Sydney & I find the more affluent the suburb the more stuck up the clients are the more i will get stuffed around the more they will want with out paying & when the job is finished they are the hardest to get the money out of. There are exceptions & some of my i suppose richest customers have been great but if I'm working say on the northern beaches for example i now expect to be treated like a second class citizen.
Yet if I'm working out in the western suburbs I get welcomed when i turn up to the job & i have to say i get looked after like royalty with some customers Lunches cooked, drinks all day, cake baked to take home or cold beer at the end of the day or all of the above . & that happens with just about every job out west money handed over without even asking & most of them would help me all day long at work if i let them .
I don't get I've got to go to the bank now & have a two hour wait after I've finished the job just to get paid I've even had a customer say I've got no money i can pay you in 6months time . Word were spoken about how they shouldn't have ordered the job then for six moths & this was from a bloke who had a new mercedes & a new porsche in the driveway.
There seems to be a bit of tradie bashing going on in some threads & e.g. things trades never say
The funniest part for me is the airs some people put on because they have the perception that I'm inferior because I'm not rich.
Im rich alright with the things that truly matter .
What makes me really laugh is my parents could probably buy most of these idiots out with there petty cash & yet i have never seen them put on airs or act like they are better than anybody else I'm very lucky to have them as parents thats for sure.
Some of my parents friends if there not billionaires there that close to it its not funny but I've never seen them do that either if they did my parents wouldn't associate with them so I'm not some idiot who is bigoted against the wealthy . It just seemed to ring true on my experiences . Now i only want to work out west because its just not worth the hassle . I get paid the same no matter were i go i don't charge extra because of the suburb you live in .
More things get stolen off site in the wealthier suburbs . I could leave my truck unlocked all day out west & nobody would touch it or the materials . Im out back working &i walk out the front & what do i see some bloke filling up his boot with bricks at newport in the middle of the day just walked in & helped himself never asked then started on me how they only want a couple of bricks but there got half a pallet load in the back. The idiot carried on like it was his right to just come & take them. Needless to say they were returned.
Veranda materials delivered stolen two hrs later newport middle of the day off the customers front lawn.
I couldn't start a thread things customers don't say like heres the money now you have finished because out west thats what happens
or thats a great job Ill recommend you to everybody i get that also but not from some stuck up snob.
So Im interested in other peoples experiences in this area. Is it just a Sydney phenomena or is it everywhere.
