Both boards are fine. I regularly ride a 110L ASC F-One board at the wing school I teach at and its a fine board. Little big in my opinion and no straps is a miss, but fine for progression so definately a step up. The appletree is probably fine too, a little shorter so probably less glide, I always found the F-One board very easy to get up. Regarding the appletree, construction is a +, probably lighter than the F-One, although not necessarily more ding resistant. I own an Appletree Jazz, and while I like the construction and stiff feel, I dont really like the shape. Slow to plane, and the angle of attack feels all wrong without adjusting the foil rake (which brings other negative effects like additional slower planing). In my opinion there should be an incline between the deck and bottom angle (slightly raised frontfoot), and the Appletree designer doesnt share that opinion and goes for 100% parallel deck and bottom. You have to like that feel, I do not. Also depends on what foils you ride, F-One generally pairs well with everything.

Dont know what the winrange is you're looking for, but F-One offerst the new Strike QuadX in 6m, and the 4.5m is just enough (not comfortably, but enough) for me in 10-15 knots with a Eagle 1090cm2 foil. I'm 220lbs. Think that 6m Strike would be a great option.

I'm not very good but my problem is that power in the wing translates to front foot pressure, what tips does everyone have to deal with that? Is it just a matter of moving the hips to compensate?

Push the wing forward / move your hands back on the handles or boom. The more forward / in front of the board you hold the wing the easier it is to transmit the power through the front foot. Front foot pressure is a good thing in that sense, because its where you want the power to go anyway.

It's your wing. With some brand, the center of effort is super stable in gust, some not so much and moves
around pitchy/dive.

I'd be super happy if it's a gear issue and not a me issue. I use f-one strikes (various generations).

Strikes are fast wings. Depending on their age and wear they should all be able to cross the 30 knot barrier.

The key is to push the board forward instead of letting yourself get dragged along by the wing. Most wingfoilers ride around like a sack of potatoes, very passive and simply relying on the wing to pull everything forward. Speed & control in higher winds come from active riding. Tension in your body & drive that board forward through the front leg.

Hopefully the Swing is inbound.

Swing is unchanged for this year, as is the Origin (which hasnt changed since the first release except for handle placement to accomodate the boom). There are new coloyrways though.

If the bottom end is much better, how's the top end?

Top-end is fine. I used the wing in 10-15 knots and 25-40 knots and in both it was perfectly usable. Although its very stiff and gusts come in hard I find it more comfortable in the top-end than my old V3 Strike.

I shot a video about my first impressions on the Strike QuadX! Find it here:

The short version:
Strike we all know, but better. Very constant pull due to the stiff airframe, high torque out of turns, improved low-end (can ride this one about 1m smaller than my V3, is also a noticable gain compared to last years model), and sick hangtime.
Return To Classic site 😭
Or... let us know if a problem, so we can tweak! 😅
