Not as vintage as some of whats in this thread, but my 115L KT wing drifter bathtub of a board...

I am riding that 115 L Quatro Drifter (same shape as the KT Wing Drifter) here. Such a sweet and lively and amazing well balanced board.

I don't know if it's possible to water start a pumpfoilboard with a wing, but I figure 35l should be doable. I hope I can test it out soon.

Water starting is easy if it's windy. 32 L board here.

I think most brands advertise weight without pad

Does not seem to be the case, my 60 L super K is pretty close to the listed 3.9 kg.

Hast anyone else tried a similiar old sail

Not exactly as old, but the dacron beginner sails work amazing well for windfoiling.

Very long video, but at 05:00 mark we switched sails with a friend who was doing his first windsurfing steps.

How are the waves at your spot? And what kind of riding are you eventually after? There are lots of viable options in the older SAB ranges, which you can find super cheap now. For example the w1110 ( sabfoil.com/en/products/front_wing_1110_ltd ) is such a gem, and rides like so:

And the old SAB w980 rides like so:

I'd suggest to talk to a local shop (whatever the brand) that has lots of riding experience with their gear, and see if they perhaps have older models in stock. With foiling it's all about matching your riding style with your local conditions - the speed of your waves, wind strength, etc.

Valid question. But it's just way better if the board is small/narrow enough that you wouldn't even need a handle, and could just pick up the gear and run to the water.

And same with the wing foil gear as well.

Super easy to learn with the straps, especially when having former windsurfing background and used to fine tuning the gear until it feels perfect. But then at some point it just clicks and the straps are no longer necessary. Depending on what kind of riding you are after of course.
