For those who can't get zinc or other additives needed for their Altex 5 Plus, go to the nearest pharmacy and ask for 500 g of antifungal powder used to treat athlete's foot. Make sure it targets both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Slowly mix the powder into your paint along with the anti-mould additive. Gram-negative bacteria are more dominant in our bay; however, Gram-positive bacteria are also present due to the mud. The powder is inexpensive and can help keep the hull slime-free for some time. This is a cheap alternative to zinc pyrithione.

Dear Sir,

I would book a stand at Woolwich Dock jump to Smithfield Altex Factory see David buy Altex 5 plus or vivid petite (add some stuff, please see my posts on fouling paints) and do it yourself. It will last longer and it will cost you half price!

My boat was Antifouled with the same formula 12/12/25.. not a single gram of slime. Boat next to mine went to Newcastle for antifouling in January and you can't see his watering it's covered in slime and barnacles..
